Bacterial Disease

Bacterial diseases of tomatoes can be some of the most serious and destructive diseases affecting both field- and greenhouse-grown crops. Under moist field conditions they can cause localized epidemics affecting young developing fruit; in the greenhouse total crop losses can occur. The three bacterial diseases are bacterial canker, bacterial speck, and bacterial spot.
