General Crop Infomation . . .
The pomegranate, botanical name Punica granatum, is a fruit-bearing deciduous shrub or small tree in the family Lythraceae that grows between 5 and 8 m tall. Pomegranate is one of the oldest known fruit and so called “fruit of paradise”. This famous fruit culivation is threaten by diseases and pests. Majorly the crop yield is affected by fungal infections and pests invasion. The crops should be carefully diagnosed and handled in order to protect from huge loss.

A variety of diseases affect Pomegranate, most of the diseases are caused by fungi or bacteria. Sometimes several diseases and/or disorders can be present at the same time. Accurate disease diagnosis is an important part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program and this module is intended to assist with identification of pomegranate diseases.
Disorder identification modules . . .
Disorders may be caused by adverse weather, air pollutants, soil conditions, nutritional imbalances and pest control products. With the exception of weather factors, most of these conditions can be monitored and managed to reduce adverse effects.
